Urban timeshares are a growing trend. Here are timeshares in New York City. These are luxury hotels which sell blocks of time of varying lengths. Consult an experienced attorney familiar with timeshare ownership before signing a contract. There is a 3 day cancellation period if you can’t say no to the presentation and sign anyway.
TIP: If you are planning a trip to New York, contact a timeshare hotel to arrange a preview. I went to one at the Manhattan Club. In exchange for a sales presentation of several hours, I stayed for free at a nearby hotel, received a steeply discounted large suite at the Club for two days ($199/night) and two Broadway show tickets. I was also able to negotiate a week “try-out” period—7 days of my choosing (over a year’s time) for $800—no kidding.
TIP 2: There is a resale market if you want to save some money.
