Handmade Love For Your Valentine

foodwriter.jpg

Valentine’s Day is a tough one. Yes, there’s the red roses and chocolate. But that’s so played and predictable. Impress the one you like to press with a handmade token of your love, affection and sense of humor with candy hearts YOU made for HER. Get a Food Color Marker here or here and those chalky hearts here –wait, Necco, the maker of these since the 1860s says they don’t sell blanks (I called and asked). I Googled and could not find a maker. Guess, you’ll just have to sand them down. Now that’s dedication. (Just to be safe, through in some jewelry).

H/T: Mad Evil Scientist.

If you live in a virtual world send these hearts.

Fun, but not quite as tasty.

Sweets For the Bittersweet here.

  • Very cute! I just finished making labels with my son's picture on them for his pre-school Valentine cards. I stuck them on the candy heart boxes...he'll be a hit for sure! Anyway, I know you think the "Roses are Red" poem is a bit played out...but check out MyTechOpinion tomorrow...I have a little treat for you!
  • We will be there. We love surprises NikNik.
  • how about writing on the backs of conversation hearts... boring safe generic messages from Necco on one side. The personal stuff from you on the other...

We had a bag, finished them a couple of days ago... we weren't even reading what they said.
  • Good idea Maureen.
  • What a cute gift idea for Valentines Day. I want 'em! But yeah, prob not quite as delicious :)
