Flying Saucer Home: Futuro

The Futuro flying saucer home was created by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen during the 1960s. The first one was made in 1968 in Helsinki, Finland. Only 20 were made in Finland between 1968-1978. The manufacturing rights were sold for production of the unusual house in other countries. Less than 100 Futuros are said to exist.

(about 20 in the US). Made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, they are lightweight and portable. They had hatch doors. These houses are now collector’s items.
