OK, I admit I like to photograph manhole covers (and doors, signs, architectural details and …. well, let’s just skip that one).
Here are some I shot while traveling through Europe last spring. I found many cities take artistic and civic pride in their covers.
But some cities, like my own beloved New York, are satisfied to outsource the work. Ah.. you’d think the city would at least insist on the larger type.
