I’m not sure why it is, but I’m fascinated by this idea. I’ve posted about this, I know you have posted about this before as well. It’s such an interesting idea- the recycling, the usefulness, the utility, the challenge of making a real home out of a container- very cool.
A community of container homes is another interesting challenge… or maybe it’s me.
It has application for businesses as well. There’s a container bar in Australia. The Italian coffee company illy used it to create a cafe.
Student housing seems like a natural fit. How about a nice shipping container cottage by the lake?
Ralkin also has plans to use it to house refugees.

I’m seriously considering that. I would love a 2nd home on the Ohio River, however I have to consider that the Ohio will flood. I’d feel much better about replacing a flooded container than a traditional home.
I am assuming they moved containers into San Diego as temp housing?
