2 Bloggers. 1 RV. 21 US Cities = Blog Tour USA. Coming Summer 2007
We’re announcing Blog Tour USA, the first (as far as we know) cross country real estate blog tour.
This summer, we are hitting the road to promote blogging, real estate bloggers, real estate agents, Sellsius°, the Inman Bloggers Connect and more. We will start Blog Tour USA in New York City and end in San Francisco at the Bloggers Connect July 31st, zigzagging our way to visit all our blogging brethren.
Along the way, we will rendezvous with real estate bloggers, agents, brokers and consumers to celebrate our industry and each other— heck any bloggers from any industry are welcome to party with us. We’re taking the online blogging community OFFLINE for a little fun in the summer sun. We’ll be taking photographs, video and, of course, blogging the whole way. The last stop on the tour will be in San Francisco, the evening before the Blogger Connect, at a yet to be determined venue where the “Beer with Bloggers” party will take place. It will be the largest real estate blog party ever!
We are still planning the route and will release more information in the coming days and weeks. If you want us to stop in your city or town, please leave a comment.
In order to promote the tour to the masses, we will wrap the entire bus with a “Blog Tour USA” logo and the logos of all of our sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring our little road trip, give us a call at our Grand Central number 1-646-714-2720, leave a comment below or contact us here.
If you have any ideas, please pass them on. Roll with us this summer!

I can’t think of a better way to reach out to all our bloggin’ friends! I’ll be waiting out here in SF….beers in hand! You know…they called me the Keg Stand Queen in college…better bring your game!
We will bring it NikNik.
Won’t be able to attend the conference, but I hope I’m still invited to the meet-up!
Great, let me know when you roll into Central Florida. Let me know when you have a graphic/banner for it and I’ll make sure to help promote it.
Team WellcomeMat will start prepping Boulder for your arrival. Bring it!
Amy, Erik & Christian—we look forward to meeting up with you all.
You need to go green…
2 bloggers in 1969 VW bus with a biodiesel engine.
That’s the stuff legends are made out of!
If you don’t stop in Phoenix, then I’m sending my Sellsius t-shirt back to where it was I ordered it from!
Actually, I’d never do that. I wore it to a poker tournament a couple of weeks ago and two people asked me, “What’s a Sellsius?”
That would be classic matt. Here was our original wagon

We are going to Phoenix because you’re there Jay. We would never pass up an opportunity to meet you.
Roadies, HA HA HA HA, How psychodelic.
Groovy man, Groovy.
See ya in San Francisco, unless you are stopping in LA or Long Beach first.
Laurie
You have to stop in St. Louis. . .you know. . .the “King of Beers”.
We’ll have a frosty one for you so be sure to stop.
I see a common theme here: everyone wants to get you drunk. Also, since I am seeing that your vehicle has not been 100% decided on, can I recommend that little mini-bike that the Dumb and Dumber duo covered so much ground with? “That John Denver’s Full of ShXX!”
“Beer with Bloggers” party…..
I can’t remember which blog I said it on but I think it was on Dustin L:uther’s Rain City Guide where someone posted some party pictures and I made a comment about how I thought you guys drinked too much. Your party comment above confirms it!
You know something is wrong when there is one guy in a long sleeve Sunday coat wearing shorts with a beer in his left hand.
In that same comment about you guys drinking too much, I also said that I had not a clue what your blog was about. Is it a real estate site? With the exception of a real estate news brief here and there, I wouldn’t say it’s a real estate site. So what kind of site is this? Humm… My guess would be a site about whatever interesting pictures you guys have come across!
It’s a cross between a blog and fark.com
If consumption of products made from barley, water, hops and yeast are important factors for inclusion on the Sellsius roadie, then you cannot skip Portland. After all, we are the self-proclaimed microbrewery capital of the nation. http://www.travelportland.com/media/mbmedkit/mb_history.html
Besides Portland would also make for a nice approach-for-arrival into SF–1,000 miles to sleep off a day spent at McMenamins Edgefield, for example, which could include a stay at the poor-farm-converted-to-hotel, 18 holes of challenging par-3 golf, garden walks, art tour, and glass-blowing demos, then capping it with dinner and a movie…sampling throughout the day from the the winery, 4 pubs, and the distillery…all on the same property.
Or we could just tip ‘em back at of only 46 other brewery locations within the city limits.
RAres
So are you coming to the cold “Northland”? I know of a few bloggers who would be willing to meet at Tom Reid’s for Appletini’s (which the spell checker can’t spell, but what the hey!).
OC Round 2 - bring it!
What Bonnie said. I think I started something in MN with the martinis, but they are the preferred beverage of MN bloggers and we would be happy to buy, if Reids will let us back in after what Bonnie and Lisa did last time. You betcha. In case you can’t find us we are in between Wisconsin and the Dakotas, but north of Iowa, and slightly South of Canada. Home of blogging Bonnie, Lisa frozen toes Dunn, Alex Stenback, blogging Jake to name a few. You would never know it by reading my blog but Minnesota is the brain state, don’tcha ya know.
Ann Arbor is a fun place to be in the summer, lots to do and you can visit “The Big House” and go to the Google office, people stop by all the time.
I agree with Matt. Go Green!
Hey, ya’ll come on to St Louis. I would love to meet and share information. Will be waiting!!!
Surely you guys will be stopping by the Silicon Hills of Austin Texas….let us know.
If you stop in Phoenix, then you will also have to stop in Scottsdale! Dang, your first spoon in Arizona…
You know, Charlottesville is only like 6 hours from NYC. Why not drop in? I shall be in San Francisco for the Bloggers Connect and Inman Connect. Wish I could ride with you guys. . .
Thanks everyone for your support. We will be setting up a list of cities to gauge interest in meetups. Please pass the word to your readers. (and digg the story so it reaches a wider audience.)
Wherever we stop, we will have the cameras running (so no funny stuff
If anyone is interested in organizing a meet-up in your city, let us know.
Northern Virginia? I have my famous pot roast waiting. Can the beer. Raid my wine cellar!
Merv, You’re a man after my own heart. We will have to stop in.
We’ve got some acreage down here you can park your RV on. If you want us to put something together for the local Austinites to get together just let me know. We’d be happy to show you the land.
Are you guys going to be looking at any real estate on your trip?
Have a great adventure, we will see you at Bloggers Connect in San Francisco and you can join Lenore and I for some “Great Wine”
I’m looking forward to seeing you guys sweat your beer bellies off in the middle of a Phoenix summer. You’re going to love it. You’ll have to stop by the Incredible Agent office for a tour and a beer.
This is a great idea. keep it up.
Phoenix is a must stop. I just hope the heat doesn’t make us send nasty letters to zillow.
Pina Coladas in Paradise, CA?
Last stop before SF?
Or perhaps all of us Nor Cal RE bloggers just meet in Sacramento on the river for some Crab and Chardonnay!? I know Gena will be there for sure.
In Northeast L A, Corona is the brew of choice (my choice, anyway)
I’ll try not to drink them all before you get here.
The Outer Banks of NC might be a good place to pick up some liquid refreshments. We are having our first blog summit on Thursday and there is a lot of interest in blogging from local Realtors. Your visit might be a good reason to get the group back together.
Forget Phoenix. Scottsdale, bah. Who goes to Phoenix in July, are you kidding me? Tucson is cooler during the day and BY FAR cooler at night. Margaritas all around. Side trip to Nogales, anyone?
Kelley—-But Jay Thompson, THE Phoenix Guy is there. And he’s cool all year round
Ronnie—Love the Outer Banks. Would go down to Hatteras for the Eastern Surfing Association Championships (jf)
Thanks Joe! Don’t listen to Kelley — those Tucson people, always touting how it’s “cooler” there. Yeah, like the difference between 110 and 105 is all that much.
The Tucson crew can always come up here. It’s only 90 minutes away. Heck, I can put a couple of them up at my house… we can make this thing work!
Finally!
…and you CAN”T go on a BeEr and Bl0GginG tour witout Stopping in Brewtown-Milwaukee WI. How about it? I can even get some boggers out for ya. Free. I’ll even buy a round.
Yo! The staff at CREN would love to meet up with you guys in Denver or anywhere in Colorado for that matter!!!
Steven—We may be able to get that round from you
Justin—-Denver, or wherever, Colorado, would be a destination. We’d love to meet ya.
I agree with Matt- go green, but go really green and make the trip in a Prius… (or skateboard).
If you make it to SLC let me know- be good to see you again!
Greg
hi greg!
we’d love to go green. should we reconsider?
salt lake city is most certainly on our route.
looking forward to seeing you then!
I second Erik in inviting you to Central FL. Weather’s (almost) always great here. I tried calling your Grand Central number to find out about sponsoring, but the electronic phone chick hung up on me.
hi shaun!
good thing grand central has caller id
nice speaking with you. we’ll see you in orlando!
What about FATlanta? THE best city in the SouthEast must be on the itinerary? Let me know if and when…I can probably round Giles up from DevelopingAtlanta.com and some other local bloggers for a beer or ten.
Set it up Brad and we’ll be there.
Boston Baby! Make sure you give a tout when you come through!
We have to do Boston to see our buds at Condo Domain. Yo, Nick, Tony–get those condoburgers ready
Geesh - I am right here in your backyard and have never met you guys. Great.. all the out of towners will meet you before I do. No, I am not jealous!
hi christine!
shame on us
wanna do lunch on monday? we’ll come and see you in queens.
We sent a note about hooking up on your houston stop….what are the dates?
Tony
hi tony!
we have not finalized all the dates yet and are not sure we’ll make it to houston. we can let you know as we get closer. thanks.
Looks like I’m late to the party, again. Lisa (frzn_toes) Dunn will be there, with appletini in hand. I’ll also bring the big golden spoon so T Boardman can stir the proverbial pot.
COLUMBUS OHIO!!!!! Must be on any blog tour list… right Toby, Elaine, Sondra, Joe, Amy, William, Teresa, Mike, Paul, Jody, etc. etc. etc.
Real Living which is based in Columbus Ohio is encouraging the agents to blog…. there’s has to be lots of budding bloggers in Central Ohio.
Lunch sounds great on Monday, but I will be on Long Island.. Is that a problem?
hi christine!
no problem. drop us an email and we’ll coordinate for monday. we are so looking forward to it
hi lisa!
st. paul is on our list as a hopeful blog tour usa stop - we really want to meet all of you. we just have to finalize mapping out the exact route. we really hope to make it to st. paul and will do our best to make it happen.
maureen - columbus ohio here we come
How can you resist a repeat visit to your prodigal sun spot, Laguna Beach?
We’ll be waiting on the rooftop again.
We’ll be posting a tentative map of our route on Blog Tour USA.
Anyone interested in attending a meet-up can register.
Anyone able to organize an event for a particular city, let us know—
comment or email us at sellsius(at)gmail.com
I have the feeling you will have many bloggers who will want to get on the bus with you for the rest of the trip. Consider a stop over in Michigan, please.
We will be in Chicago so we’ll just hang a right.
You better hang a right long before Chicago. Two states….
We’ll hang a left to Chitown after we visit Michigan.
Make a quick stop in Manhattan Beach…. from here it’s a straight shot north via picture perfect coastal scenery right into SF
If you can make it out to Seattle, Zillow would love to host a lunch for everyone riding the tour. Just let me know if a Seattle stop is on the agenda or not. Thanks!
Kaye, we can’t miss an opportunity to seeing you again.
Thanks Drew. We hope to get up to Seattle. We’ll let you know.
Some really nice innovations. Thank you very much for this post! Blogs like this one which string comments out in the open are much more proactive about sparking dialogue.

I’m sure there is room for a few sets of golf clubs on that bus. Nothing draws attention in the Hilton Head area like a golf gathering. And, inevitably, most golfers end up talking about real estate. If your heading down I-95 stop on bye.
Dudes, you’ve gotta come through Reno. Let Guy and I show you a good time in the Biggest Little City in the World, K?
Diane
Hey all. We’ll take your face along for the ride. See details here:
