Do you know what’s on your readers’ minds?
We sure don’t, aside from the emails and comments we receive. That’s one reason we started the Open Mike program. We wanted to encourage readers to voice their opinions (or their rants) to find out what’s on their minds. We have been asking other bloggers to share their ideas on the subject.
Our friend and author Phil Hoover is a 35 year real estate veteran. Besides being a “recovering Californian”, Phil brokers and blogs in Boise, Idaho (BoiseBlog.com). In order to better connect with his audience he decided to create Suggest a Post. Phil has already received some great ideas for blog posts from his readers. We thought that was a pretty neat and decided to share Phil’s idea.
Here’s what Phil has to say about his new initiative and his recent blogging success:
The incidental genius of my Suggest A Post concept is that it empowers my readers to provide me with their content ideas. I can then post about what THEY want me to post about, which is an empowerment that they don’t get via other real estate marketing method. [This] is precisely what I have been trying to achieve all along— to speak to prospective clients in their language and pull them to me, instead of giving the usual rah rah real estate cheerleading mantra spewed by NAR… I am finally booking some solid business from my blog and believe it will become my primary prospecting tool within the next 12 months.

I think that is a great idea. I am not a writer, never was, so coming up with ideas to blog about isn’t the easiest thing for me. If the public will give input that becomes a win win. I don’t need to come up with topics and the public gets the content they want.

I received two “Suggest A Post” requests the first day I added the feature to www.BoiseBlog.com.
I have now added both “Ask The Broker” and “Suggest A Post” links on my other blogs - www.Eagleblog.com and www.OurBrookwood.com.
Best idea to pass through my pea-sized brain in ages
