Phil Hoover writes the great Boise Real Estate Blog (Boiseblog.com) , an excellent resource for anyone looking to buy or sell property in that neat city.
I met Phil Hoover in Boise, Idaho during the Blog Tour of 2007. He was gracious and generous– he took us to lunch and then to his home (he even loaned us his washing machine). I discovered Phil has been in the real estate business for over 35 years, had written a book on being a successful agent and is an accomplished photographer. He is also wicked smart with a fantastic sense of humor.

In my consulting work, I often use Phil’s blog as an example of what I consider a great real estate blog– one that serves the community while showcasing the author’s expertise.
First, his blog is clutter free, easy to read and understand. He provides regular Market Updates and Stats for his markets. He also uses limited, but useful, categories– Seller stuff, Buyer stuff, his markets of Boise, Meridian and Eagle. His contact information is easy to find on the home page. I smile when I read his About Phil Hoover page– yep, that’s Phil.
Phil incorporates an Ask the Broker contact form. He also has a valuable free resource, an e-book called Moving to Boise.
Another creative of the blog is Phriends of Phil, Business Directory. I love this feature. Each month Phil features a professional he knows and recommends– folks that consumers might trust to use themselves. This month he wrote about Ken Weathers, the world’s best handyman. Rather than an impersonal Professional Directory, where anyone who can type can get listed– Phil’s readers can feel a bit more comfortable going with a fhriend of Phil. This is a great service to his community and his readers.
So, if you are new to blogging or are looking for ideas– head over to Phil’s place. Tell him Joe from Sellsius sent you. He is always willing and happy to help.
All my best wishes to Phil Hoover. A fellow blogger. A friend.
