A Phoenix blogger insists he should be the keynote speaker at the 2008 Inman Blogger Connect conference. Otherwise, it ain’t no place to learn nuttin’.
Here is the quote:
Is he dissing all these speakers at the event (that would truly be mad) or just the skeptical Dr. Shermer.
Hmm… when was the last time Seth Godin sold a house? Seth Godin was the keynote speaker at the Inman Real Estate NYC Connect conference earlier this year and no one felt “spit on”.
What’s odd is this blogger says Inman Connects are icky , a waste of his time, and he doesn’t “go North in the winter” (makes sense). Besides, in turning down an invitation to speak at an Inman conference this past summer, he said he “didn’t want my reputation to lend credibility to things I don’t endorse.” (emphasis added, doublespeak in the original). Now, one might call it noble to stand firm on one’s beliefs, except for the fact that the guy might be swayed if you dangled an “honorarium” before him. (I know I can get my dog to roll over for a biscuit.)
Again, in his own words:
Gee, maybe one could learn something from this guy.
