The Blogging Record Still Stands: 102 Posts in 1 Day

The record for blog posts written in a 24 hour period is 102. It was set September 27, 2006 by Ardell DellaLoggia and Greg Swann (yes, that Greg Swann). It was a great day because the entire (tiny) real estate blogosphere was part of it. Are you old enough to remember? I think we were still Freshmen in Blog School.

The First Sellsius° 101 Blog Post Challenge was accomplished by both Greg Swann of Bloodhound Blog and Ardell DellaLoggia of Seattle Area Real Estate Blog. Greg was first to set a single day blogging record by writing 100 blog posts today. He performed the remarkable feat in less than the 24 hours alotted. He sat on the 100th post for many hours and as a true gentleman, allowed Ardell to catch up to 100 so they could make history together and post 101 almost simultaneously. Both took the time to post quality work. Greg posted 101 at 11:32pm PST and Ardell posted 101 at 11:42pm PST. The final count = 102 blog posts each. They are both champions!

Having attempted this challenge with my partner Rudy, I know Ardell and Greg faced a daunting task. We salute their effort and thank them for making this day a memorable one in blogging history. We will duly mark their achievement.

I wanted to show my support by reading and commenting on each & every post. I read and commented on all of Ardell’s and Greg’s posts as a tribute to their hard work and dedication to the challenge.

And we cannot forget the fantastic post by post linkage and commentary by Jon Ernest at Property Monger. Great work documenting the event, Jon. A big round of applause to you.

On behalf of all the readers, Ardell and Greg, THANK YOU for providing everyone with a months worth of fine posts to read.

Finally, we’d like to welcome Greg, Ardell and Jon to the official Sellsius° Blogoholics annonymous club.

  • Hi Joe!

I was just thinking this morning...why isn't there a new challenge? Funny you posted this...it came up in my Google Alerts.

Honestly, I thought I was going to die about post 89 and it was really hard getting 93-97 or so banged out. I was blacking out. My hands were like lead.

But still...I'd do it again! It was like climbing a mountain! You might croak...but still it's a great feeling of accomplishment.

Greg has always been a gentleman and speaks well of me. Looking back over the last couple of years, I realize what a great compliment that is.

Hope all is well with you.
  • Ardell - I don't know how you could do so many posts in such a short time. To me developing worthwhile posts is difficult to say the least. Would you care to share any of your techniques? Or if Greg visits this blog - could he share his insights?

Thanks in advance, both Ardell and Greg.
  • It is pretty amazing that a single person can post so many quality posts in a single day.

I'd be interested in finding out how they did it as well.
  • It was an amazing feat. I never thought they would make it. But, of course, they did. My piece of this history: as a gesture of support, I commented on each post- a total of 204 comments in 1 day. A day to remember.
  • On the list of "Things I'd Like To Do Again"
I do believe it falls squarely between

Being the guy in the free kick soccer line up that stops the shot and forgot to cover....

    -And-

The morning after my 21st birthday

Thanks for the hat tip guys :-D
