I had the great pleasure of meeting Grow-a-Brain Über blogger Hanan Levin and his team today at his Champion Company offices in downtown Riverside, California . As you walk into the offices, you are greeted by a wall of sold properties - a very impressive first impression. Not only is he a master blogger, but a top notch real estate broker and investor - the writing is on the wall.
We stepped out for a quick bite to eat. Over lunch, we chatted about everything, including real estate:) Here are some cool things I learned:
- Did you know the first name Hanan chose for his blog was The Future of Real Estate? Me neither. Joel & Loren, pretty cool huh?
- How about this one? Hanan worked with leading real estate trainer and coach Mike Ferry for about 3 years. During this time, he learned many tips and tactics which helped him become the successful Broker he is today.
- One of the more interesting things I learned about Hanan is that rather than sitting in a chair, he stands behind his desk when talking on the phone or using the computer. Why? He says it’s a classic Mike Ferry tactic. Your voice sounds better. Voice inflection is key in getting your message across. Standing helps you be more in control of your voice. Guess what? I tried it. I felt more alert and in control of what I was saying. I guess that’s why speakers stand when giving a speech rather than sitting. Thanks for the great tip Hanan!
Now I know why Grow-a-Brain is so addictive - I learn something new every time I visit.

I’ve tried to open the podcast to hear perhaps WHY you were in Riverside CA with Hanan, but I keep getting an error message!
hi marlow - it’s top secret
all kidding aside - business and family reasons.
thanks for pointing out the error in the podcast….i found that the degree sign in the title was causing the error…all fixed now.
I recall a study where a group of scientists did their work on computers while strolling on a treadmill. Their “desks” and work areas were elevated to comfortable levels. Apparently, they liked working that way and enjoyed the logical result of staying fit.
Now we know they sounded more powerful on the phone, too:-)
hi roberta - those scientists sure are creative. i’ve tried talking on the phone while on the treadmill but i would just huff and puff. the person on the other line thought i was dying.
