3D Business Cards: Snapily

I’m always on the lookout for unusual and innovative business cards because, let’s face it, the standard business card is usually forgettable. I’ve used MOO cards because of their unusual shape, cool holder and individual card customization option (you can create 50 different cards in one order).

Here’s my branded MOO card in the card holder (just like handing out a stick of gum). It always gets a second look and incites a conversation (and that’s memorable):

Here’s a 3D business card from Snapily.com. They may be leaning toward kitschy but they certainly will be noticed. What do you think?

  • Yeah. These new business cards may stand out for awhile but do they really convey the "image" you want -- real estate professional -- or do they just say "Hey, look at me! I'm willing to try anything to get your attention." I've seen some of the 3D things before and I'm non-plussed by the finished product.

Sure, "traditional" business cards tend to get lost in the pile but if you're doing more than just handing them out on a crowded street or the grocery line, you're probably talking to the other person anyway.

BTW, I Googled JeffX just to see what the stainless steel cards looked like and couldn't find the website. Not good. Can someone share? I'm kinda curious.
  • *I'll post it.*
  • I LOVE Jeff Xs Card...but it is SO Jeff, and not everyone can pull it off. Don't be a copycat. Do something uniquely you as Jeff did. Did anyone ever figure out why so many Jeff's have their head shaved? I met 4 or 5 bald Jeffs this year at Inman.
  • blogfather - you need to get yourself one of JeffX's stainless steel business cards.

    it's the ultimate business card.

  • Now, that would be a way to stand out from the crowd. Who says the photo has to be the agent?
  • I agree that they will be noticed, but here in the Seattle area people will be looking for frugal vs. cool in 2009. People want to see that we are not spending a lot on personal promotion, which they deem is paid for by them in the long run.

In fact I am often asked why agents put their photos on business cards (mine does not at present) and they act badly to yard signs that have the agent's photo. I finally realized that they only hire one agent and don't need a photo. We on the other hand appreciate the photos more, so we can identify each other more readily, since we meet so many agents in a year's time.

I'd like to put a photo of Judge Judy on mine, or Brenda from The Closer. It would reveal more about my modus operandi than a picture of me..
