Bell Labs Focus of Preservation Magazine

Yesterday, Preservation Online Editor Margaret Foster published an article on the Bell Labs facility in Holmdel, NJ. Preservation is the award-winning magazine of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, an organization dedicated to preserving historic places.

On June 29, 2006, we posted on the future demolition of the Holmdel lab building, designed by famed architect Eero Saarinen. Ryan Block of Engadget heard our lowly voice and broadcast through his mighty megaphone. And many more people heard.

All may not agree what final fate the Holmdel lab deserves, but none can deny the impact of the lab as the birthplace of some of the world’s most important technological innovations.
