Central Chinese Television Building (CCTV) is a 5 million square feet reinvention of the skyscraper. Shaped like an upside down U with right angles, it is all the rage among the architectural in-crowd. Although huge in interior space, it is a modest 54 stories tall.Ā Truly, it’s not the size that matters, but what you do with it. We think it’s pretty cool. Those window washers are gonna have a tricky time with it, we bet.

Has anbody else noticed that most of the inspired, cutting edge, new architecture is happening elsewhere in the world? Why are we in the US of A so caught up in Victorian and 18th-20th century throw-back architecture?
Awesome!
There are a bunch of cool ones going to be popping up in Russia. I have to find that link.

Very cool looking building!
I like it. It pushes the envelope.
That is pretty cool. The building in the background looks pretty interesting as well. Is that part of the CCTV. It does seem like the rest of the world is building taller more interesting buildings than we are in the US.
