The Haunted House Brokers

brokers-haunted.jpg

We‘ve all heard of the Lutz family and their famous haunted house in Amityville, New York. Let’s say you have the misfortune of living in your own haunted house. You decide you’ve had enough of flying objects, foul smells, and nightly visits from the resident restless spirits. You want to sell but your local broker, fearing a hard sell, doesn’t want to list it. What are you to do? Well, you can hire a haunted house broker. Yes, that’s right, there is a broker who is not afraid to list it.

It seems this niche is occupied by Hauntrepreneurs International, who claim to be the only brokers specializing in selling haunted houses. Actually, they only sell commercial haunted houses, haunted hay rides, haunted trails and equipment to that frightening sector of the Amusement Industry. They’ve been in the fright business since 1987.

I put a call into the company and want to ask them if they have the stomach to deal with selling residential haunted houses. My guess is this niche will remain the domain of only the most intrepid broker–the exorcise exercise is just too much of a nightmare.

P.S. I know of one buyer who actually WANTED to purchase a haunted house. The reason: he wanted to open a unique bed & breakfast. Believe it or not, this is a niche B&B. Find a haunted B&B here.
