Chalet Evolved

The traditional chalet, or Swiss chalet, is typically a small wooden building, with a severely sloping roof and overhanging eave, built to resist the elements. They sit in mountainous areas, usually near a ski run. They were originally used by seasonal dairy farmers in the summer and left locked up during the winter months. Eventually, they evolved into recreational escapes. Some have evolved more than others.

This beauty is in a mountain pass in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland.

Light me a fire and pass me a  Drambuie and a Macanudo.
