Apture has the only multimedia widget I’ve seen. And even if you find another, Apture is the BEST.
I first covered (and fell in love with) Apture last year. Since then, it has continued to improve. I’m using it in this post. See how it works in the links.
Apture is a multi-media search engine which embeds content on your website or blog via “Apture links”. (They have a Wordpress Plugin that is super easy to use from your dashboard.)
What makes Apture awesome is how it keeps readers on your web page with interactive links. Apture has redefined the link– rather than whisking your readers away to far off lands and rabbit holes, it keeps them engaged on your website. And that’s a good thing.
Apture comes with a Media Search box and media categories to easily find and select content. You can add more than one piece of content in each link– pretty cool.
The range of multimedia content you can embed from Apture is amazing:
- Wikipedia pages
- YouTube Video
- Flickr images
- Google maps
- Twitter streams (cool)
- Music
- News articles
- Documents
- Stock charts
- Embed codes (like this one from Animoto) (Other sites you can get embed codes)
- Even upload content from your computer
- Oh my god, will it ever end? …. and so much more (FAQ) (Tips and Tricks)
NEW APTURE SUPER EMBED WIDGET
All of the above Apture links were added from my Wordpress blog dashboard using their plugin.
You can get the Wordpress plug in here OR use their new Apture Super Embed Widget.
Just choose the media content and Apture will give you the embed code.
Copy and paste it to your blog or website and your readers enjoy a multimedia experience, all from the comfort of your site.
For real estate professionals Apture Multimedia Widget is a neat way to display a property or listing: (click image to jump to post showing an example)
There is no limit to the creative ways you can use Apture to have your content stand out from the crowd, without losing your visitors to the crowd.
