I’ve posted about FastStoneCapture in the past, but it bears repeating since the tool has been updated since then (besides, that old post is lost in blog archive hell). I think it is the best, and easiest to use, screenshot tool. I use it all the time.
It allows you to capture anything on your computer screen, including bits or whole pages, as well as freehand cut-outs. It sends the screenshot to an editor where you can resize, crop, annotate/draw, apply effects and even watermark them. The result can also go to print, email, clipboard or Word/Powerpoint. It saves screenshots in BMP, JPEG, TIFF, GIF (my usual for blog images) PNG, PCX and PDF formats.
The best part is the handy screenshot capture panel that floats on your screen (you can move it) and allows you easy access to the tool.
There is also a color picker and screen magnifier plus lots more stuff (I just got tired of listing them all). No adware and no spyware.
So, stop reading this and go get the tool. Download FastStone Screen Capture here.

A great tool for Screen capture is SnagIT from Techmith. (http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.asp)
Try it, it’s woth 40 USD.
Love it! Been using it for a couple of months. Easy to use and it was cheap compared to others out there.
