Got Siphs? Create Branded Emails and a Link Blog Too

Yeah, I know, siphs sounds like something contagious– and it is! Everything shown below is FREE. The site navigation can be a little tricky, so I’ll try to break it down:

Sign up for a siphs account here.

In a nutshell, here are the applications you get (I’ll explain them below):

1. I’ll start with SiphsPosts since it’s the quickest to explain.

Share Content Faster : Click the “send via siphs” bookmarklet on your toolbar

Share anything — blog posts, websites, links, video– without having to open your email service and do the ‘ol cut and paste routine. Just click the “send via siphs” bookmarklet, add the email address, and BAM!—away it goes. (links will also go to your free link blog– more on that below)

Get the bookmarklet by dragging it to your toolbar)

The bookmarklet looks like this:

All your sent Siphs Posts are saved & viewable in your account. You can delete or forward to others.

2. SiphsMail: A Button to email or share Blog or Website content

The button , which appears on each post (via the plugin) lets your readers easily email your content (template is custom branded by you) or share it to these social sites:

Get The Siphs Button in 2 ways:

(1) by cutting and pasting code to your website or

(2) blog plugin

2A. Customize Your SiphsMail email template

  • you can brand and customize the email template and showcase your brand to the email recipient.

Here’s the one I created:

2B Synch your Address Book : Synching your address book with siphs makes it easier to use the email widget and apparently, you can create groups to send appropriate content (I have not tried it yet but it sounds like a useful tool).  Let’s say you want to send a post to all the mortgage brokers you know–  create a group and one email does the trick.  Thankfully, there is an opt-out for your recipients if you start getting carried away with sending them links.

3. Free Link  Blog: A link blog is just that— a collection of links you can describe and tag.  Folks can comment.   The siphs link blog is a no-brainer— any “send via siphs” links you send will automatically appear on your personal blog.  In fact, you can send links directly to the blog by making the siphs post “public“.

You can post video directly to the blog by pasting the code in the post comment box.

You can customize the sidebar with photos, and widgets (paste code). You can even add your Google Adsense code here (to make a few pennies– siphs does not take a cut).

Here’s a look at my siphs link post blog (I added my photo, a Sellsius blog post widget I built at widgetbox and my finetune.com music player).

4. The Extras:

  • see real time statistics on what posts were emailed or shared

  • get an RSS feed of your recently shared posts:

So there, I’ve given you siphs (in more time than it should take).  I hope you enjoy it and pass it on.

There is also a paid version of siphs. For more info see FAQ .
