Imagine sending a text message to a client’s non-smart cell phone that contains a video, slideshow or virtual tour of a home. Now you can.
Mogreet debuted the first ever mobile video messaging system for cell phones. It works with smartphones and regular cell phones without internet access.
“Over 150 million US consumers do not own a smartphone, and most have never seen a video on their mobile phone. With Mogreet, we have designed a way to reach these consumers and enable brands to communicate in rich, engaging media, creating an iPhone-like experience across all major cell networks and phones, ” explained Jay Gross, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mogreet.
I interviewed James Citron, CEO of Mogreet at ad:tech New York who demonstrated the Mobile Video Marketing Platform application. It was my only vendor WOW moment at the conference.
Text James to 21534 for a sneek peek of Mogreet’s neat mobile video texting.
This may be a game changer because folks react faster to text messages (in 20 seconds on average) than email (hours or days or never). The open rates for text messages are, therefore, much higher. The visual message also vastly increases the watchability and effectiveness of the message. Besides, no one else is doing it.
Brokers could add the text message to For Sale Signs, brochures, flyers, billboards, or any other offline advertising. Potential buyers can easily get a video text message, even if they do not have internet access. (that’s the WOW)
“It’s 1993 all over again… only this time, rather than email, the race is on to harness mobile to build a direct relationship with the end consumer,” said James Citron. “The ability to deliver your message in video to just about every cell phone in the U.S., and not just smartphones with internet plans, means marketers are not forced to sacrifice reach when they add mobile to their marketing mix.”
Mogreet was founded in 2006 and is based on Venice CA. It recently raised $7 million in venture capital.
