With tax season comes the headache of sorting and organizing your receipts. The task is made much easier with NEAT Receipts, a device which scans your receipts directly into spreadsheets on your computer (as a pdf) and keeps a copy of the receipt. From there you can easily label and sort them. There is also a search function to locate that receipt for massages at the Inman Connect Conference.
Other goodies:
It also reads business cards or documents up to 8 1/2 x 11″. It’s lightweight and portable. You can export the info into Quicken and Outlook. Only for PCs (sorry Mac).
Pretty neat. I wonder if it reads through coffee stains?
Neat Receipts Scanalizer costs $229.95.
Here is a video explaining more.

I got one of these a year ago at Costco to orginize and digitize my Real Estate expences. It is a terrific devise.
I have one of these also and it worked well when I had XP and then I upgraded to VISTA. KA-BLAM! Neat Receipts and Vista did not play together well.
Neat Receipts got around to updating the drivers, but it still didn’t work right for me. That has been quite a few months ago. I’ve been too afraid to try it since because I didn’t want my computer to go berzerk.
My hubby still uses the scanners for his company and employees. It’s a great tool when it works correctly.
Jody,
I just bought Neat Receipts and am running it on Vista.. Yes, it was a difficult install as many Vista installs are, but with the help of their tech support I was able to get it to install and it works fantastic now! I LOVE IT!
