The Easiest Way To Take A Screenshot

If you use PrtSc to take screenshots, there is a better (easier way). FastStoneCapture is the best screenshot tool I’ve found. Screenshots are useful for brokers or agents who just want to e-mail selected portions of a webpage to a client or prospect. Your ability to work with screenshots shows a prospect you have technical skills other agents may not have.

You can capture ANYTHING on the computer screen, including the full screen, scrolling web pages, a rectangular region (works like a cropping tool), and even freehand selected regions. It also allows watermarking. The small tool (see above) can be dragged anywhere on your screen or minimized to the Windows tray. When you see a page or area you like, capture it via a tool icon (above). Capture works with Internet Explorer, Firefox & Opera.

Once the shot is taken you can then easily resize it, add text, highlight, save (I always save to desktop), print, email, watermark and more. Go download FastStone Capture. You’ll love it. (note: may be for Windows only)

Another cool feature is the hotkeys:

Some screenshots I took with FastStone Capture:

rectangle.pngRectangle screenshot of page area (my favorite)(use the dotted rectangle icon)

active screen.pngActive page screenshot (I don’t like “active page” because it shows your toolbars- I hid mine before I took this screenshot)

windowobject.png Window/Object (use this instead of active page–no toolbars show)

scrolled page1.pngFull scrolled page screenshot (not recommended for very long scroll pages)
transparency.pngWatermarked screenshot (watermark added after screenshot taken, in “Draw” section)
freehand1.png Freehand screenshot (use the “star” icon in the capture tool)
