One of the best reasons for using the Firefox browser is the add-ons. And Hyperwords is one of my favorites. It is a “must have” tool in my opinion. Merely select the text on any page and choose a command. It’s a “right-click” on steroids.
And you thought hyperlinks were the only ways into the web. Well, someone thought every word should take you places– enter Hyperwords.
Use Hyperwords to highlight a word or phrase and, through a variety of drop down commands (see above), you can search the selection on Google (or other search engines you add), Google images, flickr; search reference sites like wikipedia or dictionary.com; you can also get translations, currency conversions, find links to people on any number of social networking sites, email and blog your selection, and more. You can easily customize Hyperwords. It is a totally amazing web tool.
The video below shows the wonders of Hyperwords. Download Hyperwords Firefox add-on here. It works for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Great find. I just ditched a dictionary add-on that did roughly the same thing as Hyperwords but without any of the other features. Thanks!
Cool tool, many thanks!
Great feature thanks for letting us know. I also have started to play with a new social network browser called Flock.com
I use the addon and I love it. I think that it would not be a bad thing to add it to the default install.
