You can get free 411 directory assistance by simply dialing 1-800-FREE 411 (1-800-373-3411). I just tried it and it works. I even got a real person. The catch—you have to listen to a 15 second ad (mine was for a psychic). You may want to bear the 15 seconds to save up to $3.49 for a regular 411 call.

You may find Google’s 411 service good as well - no live person, but they will text message you the information, which has the address, which can then be plugged in a GPS - http://labs.google.com/goog411/
