The keyboard can be projected and touched on any surface. The keyboard translates your finger strokes into keystrokes into the device– Bluetooth enabled PDA, Smartphone, Blackbery, Palm, even tablet and laptop PCs & MAC.  Plus, it’s sure to amaze your friends and clients.

According to the  I-Tech Virtual Keyboard website (device pictured above) :

In the size of a Zipo lighter and in an outer spaced “enterprise” style, it uses a laser beam to generate a full-size perfectly OPERATING laser keyboard that smoothly connects to MAC’s, Smart Phones, the new Blackberry (8100,8300,8800),Nokia N95 (Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition), any kind of PC and most of the handheld devices (PDA’s, tablet PC’s.)

The I-Tech laser keyboard acts exactly like any other “ordinary” keyboard: A direction technology based on an optical recognition mechanism enables the user to tap on the projected key images, while producing real tapping sounds (we call it the WOW effect..)

Virtual Keyboard provides a practical way to do e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet tasks, enabling users to leave laptops and computers at home.
VKB’s adaptable technology studies the user’s finger movements to interpret and record keystrokes.

Cost: $199.99

Anyone try one of these?

  • I'm still at odds about my blackberry sometimes - I guess still have to figure out things. I do like this little gadget - very cool!
  • I used a flexible keyboard for a couple years. Loved it. I guess someone else loved it more because someone swiped it. I like the idea of a virtual keyboard. I've been using a tablet for the past year and love it. It also gets heads turning. I'm going to check this out this keyboard. Looks like a WOW to me.
  • I'll second what Sarah said - always really cool gadgets to read about here in your blog. I could see this one having some great appeal for some folks. It amazes me how this works.
  • Joe
I've never tried it but the concept does not appeal. The problem I have with the iphone is I can't tell what I am typing and it self corrects my typing in ways that I don't want.
I prefer the key board of the old blackberry and treos and the key board of a laptop or computer.
    Nice find though!
  • Thanks Sarah. Sometimes these things just find me :)
Come by tomorrow to see one of the best Twitter apps I've come across .
