Doha? Yes Doha. Now where is that exactly? It’s the capital of Qatar (pronounced CUT-er). And where exactly is Qatar? Next door to UAE. Oh, never mind.
Saw this post on Pearl of Dubai saying Americans compare Doha to Las Vegas. Perhaps some US marketer thought the comparison appealing, but I’ve read that it’s more like Palm Beach or Santa Barbara. What do you say Pearl? Have any of our readers been to Doha? We’d love to learn about it.

Actually the label of the “Vegas of the Middle East” is usually attached to Dubai, not to Doha. I have never been to Doha but my sense if that it is charting a similar path to Dubai. Maybe it will eventually deserve the title of the “Palm Beach of the Middle East?”
