One Phone Number For Life: Grand Central

Grand Central lets you have one telephone number that can reach you anywhere. It also keeps a record of every voicemail on your computer indefinitely. Grand Central has many more useful features such as:

  • the ability to create customized greetings for each contact that may call you
  • a way to block telemarketers by putting them on a spam list or playing a message “this number is no longer in service” (cool)
  • send your voicemails via email
  • record a call just by pressing “4″. Grand Central records and saves it for you.
  • play music for your callers while they wait
  • use your own mp3 files to create custom ringtones
  • listenin, as the name implies, lets you screen your calls

Your Grand Central number is routed to any of your phones.

Change Any Phone Number and Not Have to Update Your Contacts

Grand Central’s one number eliminates the need to update your contacts if you move or otherwise change your phone numbers. If you change any of your phone numbers simply reset your Grand Central ring destinations.

The Privacy of a Grand Central Number

You can freely give out your Grand Central number and if any caller keeps bugging you, you just spam block it. They have no way to bypass it and since it’s not your home or cellphone number your privacy is protected. You’ll never have to change your phone number because of prank callers.

Finally, they have a Web Call Button you can insert on your website:

This is a great service that I have been testing with some of my agents. I did a post on it about a month ago and included a good video demo of the product: http://www.atlanta575realestate.com/2007/02/grand-solution-to-manage-your-phone.html

Had not heard of this - definitely something for me thanks and thanks Brad for the link to your video

Nice idea. I’ve been using http://www.freedomvoice.com with much success for some time now and am happy with it. Looks like they both have different features to recommend them.

This rocks hard. We were approached by RealPing a while back and weren’t keen on it. The extra features this offers are what made me actually sign up for this one. The ability to record a call in progress, then post that to a blog… gotta love that. Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve been using GrandCentral for several months too. I’ll agree with Brad - it’s a great service, one that I’d even pay for!

The product keeps getting better and better - my only complaint is sometimes the calls that are forwarded to me aren’t the best audio quality, but I’m hoping that improves as it rolls out of Beta.

This is almost as cool as that one time when I found $100 on the sidewalk….although Grand Central will undoubtedly net me less in the way of jello shots at my local pub…..

We use GotVMail.com which is a similar service. These systems are great for small businesses. I would highly recommend checking it out if you don’t already use one.

Sounds good. We’ll be checking it out.

I finally got it. Joe mentioned it when they were in Columbus for Blog Tour USA and I got on a waiting list then.

I must have missed this back in March.
