HomeGain Gets A Facelift

HomeGain, a top 10 real estate website (according to the latest Hitwise numbers), has a new home page.

It’s a classic 1-2-3 consumer centric model:

  1. Find and compare Realtors
  2. Get a home valuation
  3. Search homes for sale

This is the meat and potatoes of real estate.

While there is also easier access to other HomeGain tools, such as the Home Sale Maximizer, the new look makes it clear the focus is on the needs and wants of home buyers and sellers.

  • I like the look of it. I am not to jazzed about paying their prices though. Homegain has never been a the top of my list of companies I wanted to spend money with.
  • The facelift is a good one as it offers less choices to the site visitor, but drives them to the information they came to the site for. They are using the rule of 7's.

Internet users scan, they don't read, so why not cut down on the verbage and give the site visitor right up front what they are looking for?
