Slate.com celebrates its 10th year on the Internet, making it a virtual oldtimer. Lookback here.
Reuters has an interesting article on the future role of old media (newspapers) in the new world order seemingly being created by blogs, social networking sites like digg and the community web (read Web 2.0). “Newspapers’ future is on the Web”, said David Talbert, founder/editor of rival Salon. “They should be developing more opinionated writers. Launched in June 1996 by Microsoft, Slate was sold to the Washington Post in 2005.
