Comic Book Economics By The Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has been publishing educational cartoon-style booklets since the 1950s. (no, that’s not one of them)

The booklets, intended for the general public, use “everyday language and lively illustrations”.

Some titles in the comic book series include:

* The Story of Banks  (a horror story, no doubt)
* The Story of Checks and Electronic Payments
* The Story of Monetary Policy
* The Story of Money (… and how to spend more than you make)
* The Story of Inflation
* A Penny Saved (… and $750 billion spent)
* Once Upon A Dime,  and
* “The Story of the Federal Reserve (a children’s book)

The Federal Reserve Bank booklets are available online here.

Some titles I’d suggest:

  • The Story of Fannie and Freddie Mac, Today’s Bonnie & Clyde
  • The Fable of Sub-Prime Mortgages
  • How to Stimulate Yourself  with $750 Billion Dollars (an adult comic)

What comic titles would you like to see?
