Several days ago, I posted about Washington state real estate blogger Larry Cragun and his idea to market his blog offline using print media– brochures. A comment was left by Ricardo Bueno who had also used this marketing technique successfully. He added a link to a blog flyer he created. Great idea.
Display your blog brochure, or flyer, wherever you might have occasion to give a business card. Offline marketing does not have to be expensive. Thanks for the tip Ricardo.

This goes along with your other post about print advertising sticking around for a while longer. There are those consumers that will never make the leap from the newspaper to the net. But there are those on the fence or that are doing both that may not have know about your blog. This is a great way to capture their attention and increase traffic and (hopefully) business.
Bloggers could even use your print advertising tracking technique on their flyers to see what the ROI is. What’s the link to that post again?

Sure Danilo. The Sellsius link lets you create “tagged” urls to track visits from print advertising:

It can be used in postcard campaigns, newsletters, classified ads and any other print media– you could also use it online. Our research has shown that people who receive postcards will read them if the copy is compelling but they hesitate to call– the idea with the Sellsius link is to give them the option of visiting your listing without having to call– and you see that click. You may discover that certain mailings or ads bring more hits than others and you can gauge better where to spend your ad dollars.
Glenn– experiment with the idea– maybe just try a simple flyer. The idea is to make it compelling for consumers to stop by and learn a little more about what you can offer them. Good luck.

Totally agree that whenever using any type of print, the blog address should always be included,and of course the same goes for the business card as well.
I think we just need to incorporate whatever print ads work best for us to always include our blog URL, as well.

Whatever you guys do, don’t order anything printed from VistaPrint. I know they’re popular but there are better online shops out there that have thicker, better quality, card stock. I recommend http://www.4focusfx.com . Usually, if you call them directly, they’ll give you some new customer deals if they have any… (800) 585-9315.
What I tend to see a lot online nowadays are deals for “16pt business cards” and postcards. 4FocusFX seems to carry a lot of those items and their prices are on the cheaper side… the other day I placed an order for 1000 business cards and they charged me only $49 (pretty good considering the fact that they were full color front and back).

The idea of traditionally marketing your blog using old school tactics is great idea. A marketing piece that provides the basics about the blog is great. You could do a What is a blog? piece for the client that doesn’t know what a blog is.
Another idea would be to use a unique URL just for information about that open house, realtor, etc. It is unique, adds value and doesn’t costs anything.
