To my Faithful Readers,

Thank you for continuing to stop by to visit.  I apologize for not posting the past week.  I had intended to republish some archives for your dining and dancing pleasure but then found myself living in the physical world of San Francisco while attending some conferences.  I never turned on the computer.  I was so caught up in the emotional experience of seeing real smiles on real faces that I didn’t feel the urge.  In the coming posts, I’ll share some insights gleaned from the events themselves, as well as the conversations in the hallways, restaurants and on the street.  Also some pics from the events  and my walking tour of Chinatown.

For the record, I spoke on a panel at HomeGain’s Live Nation Real Estate Forum, Trends in Real Estate Marketing, with my friends and colleagues Louis Cammarosano (HomeGain’s General Manager), Jay Thompson, Rob Hahn, and Pat Kitano.   The event was held at the gorgeous Fairmont Hotel.

What impressed me most about the event was HomeGain’s bringing together its community (and others, like SEO dude Eric Blackwell)  to share best practices with each other.  Some of these folks earn 100s of thousands of dollars using HomeGain products (yep, 100s of thousands) and they had no hesitation sharing their methods with the community.  A great teaching conference.

I also attended the user generated REBarCampSF and did a session on Tools, Tips, and Tricks, with the help of Ricardo Bueno and Larry Yatkowsky.  We shared Apture, Animoto, Slydial, Posterous, and a bunch of other cool tools.  After the event, we grabbed some tacos from the taco truck and went across the street to quaff Mighty at Beer with Bloggers.

Last, but certainly not least, was Inman News’ Real Estate Connect, a three day event held at the Palace Hotel.  As a technology columnist for Inman News, I got the chance to mingle with the brightest minds in the industry. Chock full of ideas, I left with a stuffed brain.

  • Hey, dude, the fun never stops, huh? Welcome back and, yeah, it'as always amazing when you interact with people IRL.
  • So right, Ken. Saw a lot of real smiley faces and heard plenty of LOL. The
atmosphere was intense, both for education and entertainment. Much to
    digest.

Hi, Joseph. It was nice seeing you again out here in San Francisco. Next time, we will hopefully have more time to catch up.

  • Indeed
    I look forward to it
  • Joseph,

It was a great time and thanks for having me with you on that panel. I posted a recap on Ribeezie(dot)com just today though I'm sure that I left quite a few things out. With your help, perhaps I can update the post?

Anyway, thanks again for an awesome week!
  • We got some great feedback. I enjoyed spending some quality time with you, Ricardo. Thanks for the recap post, I'll check it out.

    Glad to see you back!
  • I was beginning to enjoy being unplugged in the world of flesh and blood.
