DashText: Twitter for Cars

dashtext

Dashtext is a social networking site designed for car drivers to talk to each other, using their license plate numbers as ID.

Sign up with your license plate number and create a profile.  Shout your message to other license plate numbers via a text message or from the website.

Post your shout to Twitter.

Put a classified ad on your car.

An interesting application of social media to the offline world.   Should be fun during rush hour on Friday afternoon.  But beware the car stalkers.

  • What a great idea! I have always tried to think of something similar that is like a social network driven driver rating system. I think that this could change into a bad driver warning system :-) The cops should watch this site and anyone with more than like 50 social complaints should get pulled over and get a ticket on principle.

  • I'm thinking an easier way is to just get a bumper sticker with your
    @twitter name.
