Examiner.com is looking for writers to become Examiners for US or Canadian cities.
Examiners are local insiders with specialized expertise about a particular subject who want to share it with their neighbors.
If you are accepted into their network, you will:
- publish to a network with 17 million readers
- earn pay for views, visitors & ad clicks*
- add gig to your resume or professional portfolio
- choose what you cover within your topic (Categories include Neighborhoods, Home & Living, Social Media, and Business & Financing)
- be able to network with 20,000 Examiners
*According to the website, “Examiners are paid a very competitive rate based on standard Internet variables including page views, unique visitors, session length, and advertising performance. This is not a full-time “quit your day job” kind of opportunity, but Examiners can definitely earn some extra cash while gaining exposure through their writing. Examiner.com uses PayPal to compensate Examiners.”
Apply here. The application will require a writing sample, short biography, a brief explanation of your expertise and basic contact information.
My Take:
I know nothing about Examiner.com but I’m always looking to help writers get more exposure, and perhaps get paid. They have social media promotion for your work. Take a look….
Here are posts by a Residential Real Estate Examiner. And a Housing Examiner.
Interestingly, Zillow’s COO Spencer Rascoff is a Real Estate Marketing Examiner. I wonder if this is part of Zillow’s creative social media marketing or whether Spencer is acting independently.
