FSBO Takes His Marketing To The Streets of New York

Hal Ruzal, a proactive For Sale By Owner, is marketing his home on the streets of New York, literally.

Forget a lawn sign (heck, there aren’t many lawns in Manhattan), Hal hits the streets armed with a handwritten cardboard sign and a certain down-to-earth charm. Four folks have come by to have a look at his loft in the toney Meatpacking District.

Check out the video here.

  • I have always wanted to try that. Why not?
  • Try what?
  • Hey, whatever works. And in this market you have to keep thinking outside the box.
  • Very creative. Certainly no self-respecting Realtor would do this so he might as well.

I guess it says something about NYC real estate that a street person has a share in a co-op worth $525,000.

I wonder how many calls he'll get from this blog post. Maybe he'll send you a referral fee. :-)
  • :)

How about this for guerilla marketing-- An agent sets up a desk and chair
on the street and sits with an open laptop offering to help folks find
apartments? It may sound far-fetched but I had a conversation with an agent
who wanted to set up a booth at a flea market in the city.
  • A one man, one lisitng, walking MLS!!!

    Ingenius!!!
