How to Attract Filthy Rich Clients

You want to know, don’t you? Michael Furniss‘ landing page won First Place in the Copyblogger Copywriting contest. The criteria: Make the best irresistible offer on a landing page– one that “catches the reader’s attention, barrels them down a slippery slide to your call to action, and results in that desired action.”

The top three were chosen by the judging panel of Seth Godin, Darren Rowse and Brian Clark. The prize was $5,000 in SquidOffer advertising.

Second place (the only 10 on Seth’s list) and third place winners also won free advertising on Squidoo. Congratulations to all.

With the exception of second place, the short copy seemed to carry the day. The first place selection had all the ingredients we think make for readable blog posts— interesting image, scannable copy (indented numbered bullets and bold copy), humor, and a great HEADLINE. Jakob Neilsen would be proud.
