Landlord Strips Sexy Coffee Banner in Colorado

Perky Cups is using girls in bikinis to sell coffee.  The above banner ad was being used.

While city officials were at the coffee shop and said the sexy sign didn’t violate the city’s banner rules and was protected by the First Amendment, the landlord gave the tenant grief — using the lease.

Wednesday morning, the coffee shop’s landlord, Coldwell Banker Commercial in Denver, pulled the massive banner down, ending it’s infamous three-day presence at the corner of East Iliff Avenue and South Peoria Street.

CEO of the Coldwell Banker office, said the coffee shop’s lease bars any type of banner and gives the landlord authority to control any signs.

“All signage is subject to landlord approval,” Coleman said.

Hmm…looking at the video, I don’t see the problem:

Even if their banner didn't violate the city’s banner rules and was protected by the First Amendment, this business just screams "perversion" - think about the theme days: Military Monday, Schoolgirl Thursday and Fantasy Friday. It's a good thing the land lord pulled it down, I think his lease contract should have included landlords insurance in case any elderly client of the cafe has a heart attack and want to sue him.
