Here’s a new feature I’m thinking of adding to the blog–interesting, historic or offbeat homes for sale.   Here’s our first: Kaweah Falls.  Built in 1947 by architect Frank Robert, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.

The 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 2 story home is priced at $1,950,000

According to the listing:

Kaweah Falls is a modern rustic retreat home tucked away in beautiful THREE RIVERS, CA (3 hours north of LA, 4 hours south of San Francisco) at the base of the Sequoia National Park in Central California. While sipping wine at the bar, you can watch rainbow trout swimming below through the glass-bottomed floor.

  • I have been in this home. There are no words to describe this unique and beautiful place. When visitors walk onto the front patio they gasp in awe. The home has its own private island with sandy beach and waterfall. To visit this home is an unforgettable experience!

Wow! What a great spot. I live on the main fork of the Kaweah River and there is nothing like falling asleep to the sounds of the river.
  • That house is really so pretty,I wish I could have a house like that. Having a house with a private island with sandy beach is surely a nice place to live.
