Market By Mail Using Custom Photo Stamps

Jeff Bernheisel (TitleRep) found this interesting way to market using postage stamps.  It’s one way to stand out from the crowd and that’s a part of good marketing.

Easily create custom postage stamps online at stamps.com.  You can brand them with your logo or photo, or get creative– make them coupons for something.  Be different.
Attach the stamps to letters (some folks still write letters, don’t they?), thank yous, holiday cards, and other mailings to past or prospective clients– or anyone.

CLOSING GIFT TIP: Jeff also suggested creating a custom stamp using your client’s house photo and giving them as a closing gift.  Great idea.  (that Jeff is a clever fellow).

Cost: A sheet of 20 Photostamps costs between $5-$10, plus postage.

What other marketing uses do you see for PhotoStamps?

Hey, thanks for the shout out!

  • This an email reply to Vlad's comment. (fingers crossed)
  • It worked!
  • Haha yes! Thanks for the help with the settings and the links for more info. I'm going to give it a try for awhile. I'll post on Disqus and see what folks think about it.
  • Forgot to mention. The API version of the plugin does not offer integration for Seesmic video comments. Javascript one allows your readers to respond via video comments. It makes no difference to me since most of my readers are not using Seesmic.
  • That is one of the downsides of API nonsupport. But the downside for
javascript is no SEO benefit-- the comments are not indexed by the search
engines-- am I correct on this?

  • Yes. You are correct. Also look at the link I sent you to Scott Jangro's
hack to work around the trackbacks.
  • I just installed Disqus and am testing it.
  • Now, I am testing the reply.
