For the Holidays: Give a Personalized Gift Card

Give clients a personalized Visa Gift Card, courtesy of Gift Card Lab. Maybe a photo of their new home or their family? Maybe the family pooch.

It’s easy. Just go to the site and upload your image (or use one of their designs), add an embossed message, choose the amount of the git card ($10- $250) and the number of cards you want. The gift cards will be sent to you or directly to the recipient. The service charge is $5.95 per card.

It takes 5-10 business days to get delivery. Got questions, click here.

Send these cool gift cards to your clients– it’s free money to them, cheap advertising to you.

Here’s another idea– Give one to yourself and use it at the checkout. It will definitely be a conversation starter.

  • "As for the IRS-- screw them-- what do they know about goodwill?" Amen, Brother Sellsius.
  • Interesting concept.

Here are the challenges: a) expensive --even at $250 the cost of the card is over 2% of the cost of the card. If you happen to follow IRS rules (no more than $25 per client per year) it adds up to 23.8% of the cost of the gift , b) tend to get lost (if one were to believe the stats for unused gift cards), c) limited duration (once they're spent they're discarded) and d) you have to have a nice memorable image.
  • Perhaps it should be for select clients? Maybe a value-add for clients who
order your ___ (fill in the blank), come to your ___? A gesture that makes
a person feel special can only be a good thing-- at least that's what Martha
taught me :) As for the IRS-- screw them-- what do they know about
    goodwill?
