National Geographic reported the news that a 30 story sinkhole gobbled a dozen homes in a poor section of Guatemala City. The cause is unknown but likely due to an underground sewer pipe rupture combined with heavy rains. A new expression was coined on the spot: “You don’t know your ass from a Guatemalan sinkhole.”
