"Before I got married I had six theories about bringing up children; now I have six children and no theories.."

I remember this phrase from one of the J. Wilmot Book. Haha.

Wow a kindred spirit. I love old English poetry as well as any old poetry going back to the Greeks. In fact, I just love poetry.
English favorites include Spenser, Chaucer, Herrick & the other Cavalier poets, Donne, Blake, etc.
Thanks for stopping by and also for that excellent endorsement you gave us. We really appreciate it.

I love old british poetry, I actually have a degree in English Literature and I read a bunch of it, as well as took a history class about England from the 10th Century to the 18th and this period of history when he was writing was filled with violence, upheaval and rebellion. In the mid 17th century you had a civil war and an interegnum (period without kings) in which Oliver Cromwell rose to power and a lot of people lost their lives. I never read Wilmot, so thanks for introducing me to him! This poem makes for a good read and I agree with its stance on human nature
