“Find out what your home is worth”. This is a real estate agents’ stock consumer come on. It worked brilliantly for a long time and still works. But when everybody does it, does it lose it’s impact and appeal?
Want to try something different? How about a coffee meet up? That’s right. Invite buyers and sellers to share a cup of Joe with you to talk real estate. Put the invite button on your blog, website or next marketing emailer and see what happens.
This offline networking technique is being used by Ian Isanberg. He’s an IT guy with a major international media company. I met Ian at the Rocketboom meet-up last week in New York. He just started a blog called Coffee with Ian. He sets up coffee meetings at local Starbucks to network. Hmm… could this work for real estate agents? Anyone?
We liked the idea so much we’re offering “Suds with Sellsius“. When you come to NYC, give us a call and we’ll buy you a brew.
Starbucks Coffee Tip: You can order a “Short” and get the same amount of espresso as a Tall (for about 10% less) You get a richer cup of coffee than a Tall. The Short is not on the menu. Only insiders know about it.

We are trying this in Dayton. Only did it once so far, schedules have prevented another, but we have great ideas for tweaking/ improving things, so hopefully we can really get things moving.
That’s great teri. Please let us know how things turn out.
we are in the works with this-
here some things that we are doing-
focused on FSBO’s or Expired Listings-
Promote on blog
Direct Mail
Press Release
Work with coffee shop to get them promote and have flyers at shop.
We also for the more shy people that don’t want to show will have our meebo up and running so they can do a Q & A with us also.
Then of course we will follow this up with a press release.
EDYN– let us know which work best and any that are a bust.
When your press release is ready, send it over.
Another Starbucks secret, when you order your coffee, ask for a cup one size larger. For example, if you order a tall, ask for it in a grande cup. Therefore, you don’t have to pour out unused coffee to add milk, and can drink the coffee that you paid for.
(I don’t only run Coffee With Ian, I’m also a former barista!)
Thanks for the tip Ian. Love the idea.
Ian, those are two great ideas. Great networking idea and coffee idea as well.
Thanks!
