A Sellsius Scoop: Property Rover Exclusive

You heard it here first folks. Today, NYC based Property Rover unveiled its consumer friendly Residential Real Estate Search Engine. For many years, Property Rover’s spidering technology was only available to Real Estate professionals. The site searches Manhattan, and soon Brooklyn, sales and rentals. The company was formed in 2000 by Laurence Ross and Michael Sokolow.

This morning we spoke with Co-Founder, Larry Ross. He confirmed to Sellsius that today is the official launch of their consumer facing site and gave us an exclusive peek at their press release which will be made public sometime later this week. Our first impression of the site is that it has a clean look and interface. It has a keyword search, Open House search and an optional neighborhood search. The site is fast loading and contains a good representation of the major firms in the city. It’s worth checking out.

According to Laurence Ross, “the problem with broad based search engines is that they do not make it easy for homebuyers to reach the specific apartment listing they are looking for”. Ross adds that “in today’s fast-paced environment it is important to get to the information and contact person as quickly as possible without having to sift through pages and pages of irrelevant results.”

Michael Sokolow admits “having a real estate background has helped us to design a product from a user’s perspective which will enable our target audience to find their dream home in a fast and friendly manner.” Chief Technology Officer Ori Klein adds that “PropertyRover’s software was designed to retrieve, filter and sort relevant information in a simple manner based on defined fields and parameters that are often associated with Condo, Coop and rental listings”.

Consumers can only benefit from the new technologies being developed and real estate professionals have yet another online outlet to provide maximum exposure for their listings in order to increase the chances of consummating a direct sale.

We at Sellsius wish Property Rover much success.

I like seeing my exclusive listed on Property Rover. I did not find it on Trulia. With all the hype, it’s a tad disapointing. When are you going to launch?
