Keywords in the domain are essential to helping a site come out of the Sandbox faster. They give Google a good idea of what your site is about even before they look through your content. Also, placing keywords in your site tag line is a good idea. Another thing to beware of is that terms like "blog, chat, and forum" are known Google poison words and should always be avoided in the domain name. Well said, Sellsius. These are both easy things to do but are often overlooked by the larger sites like Curbed! (notice that both #1 and #4 do not have "real estate" in the title, but use the tag "real estate".
