Think Outside The Closing Gift Box: Give An Experience

closing-gift-1.jpg
Closing gifts to your client are a thoughtful custom. I’ve seen bottles of champagne, rose bouquets, and pre-packaged gift boxes. All very nice. Clients appreciate them. But after they are used, they, and you, are usually forgotten. Here is a closing gift idea to wow any client and have your name on their lips at the next social function.

Give the gift of an EXPERIENCE. How would you like to be known as the agent who gives these memorable and unique closing gifts? It may just get you an article in your local paper. That’s a gift back to you.

These gifts are unique and many are reasonably priced. Of course, you’ll match the experience to your client (or the size of your commission.) Not all senior citizens love bungee jumping. These gifts show your client you put thought into it. Try it. You’ll be unforgetable.

Here are some websites offering unusual gift experiences. You can search by city, activity type and price.

I completely agree! A special experience will definitly leave a lasting impression with your client. I’ve worked with several top agents in the SF Bay Area and in this competitive market, anything that will distinguish you apart from the rest is fabulous. Although, your gift means little if you don’t do your job. BTW- Great links! I have used Excitations in the past with great results. Out here in Northern California, we love our wine and the wine related experiences are a big hit! For those of you that can’t afford the experiences, a dinner certificate to a popular hot spot in your client’s new neighborhood is always appreciated!

Hmm, I think I’m going to start advertising “Free Helicopter Tours” of Norfolk and Virginia Beach on my website! Thanks for the great idea!

Let us know how that works out Vince. Maybe your local newspaper will write it up with a link to your site. Give them a call.

I don’t know if you guys at sellsius have noticed but over the past few years the price of learjet fuel has really gone up. I have been giving my clients learjet fuel as a closing gift and I have to say since I started doing that my business has really taken off.

OK Teresa I’m not going to say how clever you are (but dang you are).
You can probably switch to premium gas now. The last time I gassed up my car, I felt like I was buying jet fuel.

Yes, I agree, an experience does make you more memorable. An experience I have done before is giving my clients Family Memberships to the local Zoo, and the Aquarium so that they could have fun together as a family in their new city. So for a whole year they can have adventures, explore and learn!

One of my all time favorite clients had directed so much business my way, and acted as a reference so often, I decided it was time to say thanks using all caps.

Every year they vacationed with friends on a houseboat. A few years ago my firm underwrote the trip for them. They were delighted.

Experiences have a unique memorable quality. They make for lasting impressions. A wonderful gift, Jeff.

Wow, what great ideas. I will have to implement something like that. I have been giving recent buyers gift cards to Lowe’s since many are buying rehabs lately.

    Hi Susan

It’s one way to stand out from the crowd.
