Zillow’s inaccuracy may be painfully plainly appreciated on Zillow.com but as the zestimate starts popping up on Yahoo, Prudential and other respected real estate professionals’ websites, will it then gain an air of authenticity, accuracy and reliability? Will zestimates be rendered true by association? Though it wear its robe, Perception is not Truth. If you want the consumer to trust you, you must be honest with them.
When consumers search “appraise my home” on Google or Yahoo the number 1 result is Zillow.com. Does this increase Zillow’s credibility with consumers or does it have no effect? Was it meant to?
