Valentine’s Day Trivia: Rome’s Love Lottery: The origins of St. Valentine’s Day may lie in the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, which was celebrated on Feb. 15. On Lupercalia, a young man would draw the name of an available young maiden in a lottery and would keep her as a companion for the entire holiday. In 496, Pope Gelasius did away with the pagan festival.

Hey Sellsius…thanks for the visit the other day. Half of my widgets, buttons etc don’t work so I felt like I had unexpected guests over to an untidy house with nothing to serve. Anyway, I’ve been remiss in my visits, commenting, etc… as RE activity has heightened here in CHI. (the city, not the philosophy)
Oh, and thanks for the Valentine reminder with those two pictures of….what do you call them?….oh yeah…hearts. Thanks for the heardts.
Geno,
Like old friends, no matter the time between visits, the feelings remain the same. Great to hear you’re out and about doing your thing in Chi Town. Happy V day.
