We finally figured out why ‘Zona went after Zillow. It seems Arizona bureaucrats are obsessed. No, not with that (well, maybe a little). They are obsessed with professional titles.
Last September, the Arizona State Attorney General sent a letter to the Heart Attack Grille in Tempe telling them to stop using the word “Nurse” to describe their waitresses.
The letter warned that following “Arizona Statute A.R.S. 32-1636, only a person who holds a valid and current license to practice professional nursing in this state … pursuant to sections 32-1668 may use the title ‘Nurse’.”
In response, the owner put a disclaimer on his Web site, saying, “Heart Attack Grill nurses are NOT REAL NURSES.” The attorney general’s office sent a follow-up letter on November 22 saying this resolved the issue.
Maybe the Norhern Arizona University Lumberjacks should be worried.
It’s gotta be the dry heat or Freon inhalation from too much air-conditioning.
For the conspiracy theorists: The publicity helped The Heart Attack Grille become internationally known. Could Zillowists have tipped off the Arizona Appraisal coppers, knowing their obsession, so as to bring publicity and sympathy to Zillow?

If the nurse (that’s not a real nurse) pictured is serving lunch, I’ll be at the heart attack grille with my laptop on Zillow. I’d never guess she’s not a real nurse. If it looks like a duck….
Too funny…. I used to eat fairly regularly at the Heart Attack Grill. Then the AG and the State Nursing Board got all twisted out of shape. The result was the Grill’s business went NUTS and now you can’t get a seat during lunch. TV crews from all over the planet stopped by, even Geraldo got into the mix. (Search YouTube for “Heart Attack Grill”).
I’m in the wheel chair in this one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DH6iWwiiHt8
Amazing what a little bad publicity can do for your business.
