Keywords for Your Blog or Website: Are You Dense?

Keyword density is the percentage of occurrence of your keywords to the other words on your blog or website page. SEO gurus say it is important for your web pages to have the optimal keyword density to rank well in search engine results. According to SEO experts the optimal keyword density is between 3 and 7 percent. That doesn’t seem like much, why not shoot for more? Well, going over 10% puts you at risk for “keyword stuffing“.

Keyword stuffing is a Google no-no. Go over 10% and Google says you’re trying to game the system. Bad kitty. It can land you in Google GJail.

OK, so how dense are you? Are you blogging within the lines? Try this Keyword Density Checker and find out. Just insert your URL and wham! The results are presented in a nice keyword density cloud and a breakdown of keywords with their respective density percentages. Cool.

I got this tip on the Keyword Density Check tool from RSS Pieces, makers of SEO friendly blogs and websites. They oughta know.

Go check it out.

    Interesting stuff.
Ran my 3 blogs thru the density checker and I am right in there @ 4-6.5% for the most popular keywords for my area (Boise real estate and Boise Idaho real estate).
Guess that explains why www.BoiseBlog.com is organically #5 on Google for “Boise Real Estate”.
Hooray ~ I did something right for a change :)
Now I can be ranked as one of the Top 10,000 Bloggers!
